So after being back in the US for one week, here...
1. We have SO MUCH SPACE. I know we all know this- America, the land of expansion, stealing chunks of land from Mexico and stuff like that, large allotment of personal space…. but experiencing it is a whole new thing altogether. I know Fredericksburg is a sleepy little place, but there are tons of small towns in America. Singapore is so vertical in comparison, there are no sprawling areas of woods...

After a long a brutal flight eastward (6 hrs I think from SG to Tokyo, 12 hours, the horrible part, from Tokyo to DC) we are back in the States for 5 weeks! So nice to be back, everything feels pretty surreal. And the first morning back it snows- I feel very lucky. I like the cold, although my skin is quite dry and I still have a bit of a cold. I don’t mind though because we have a plethora...

Also, it is more than a little bit funny that I’m getting this pass right before I’m leaving for 5 weeks, then coming back and getting my...

I'll be home for Christmas!
SOOOOO EXCITED!!! Going to be home Dec 15th through Jan 21st.
I never thought I would miss home this much. I don’t think I’ve experienced homesickness since I was like 6 years old. It is actually a sick-like feeling, and very distracting. I think a big part of it is that it’s coupled with post-school depression. But I guess it is a good thing that I lost my job because I am...

A Rough Week
So on tuesday I lost my job. Really upsetting how it came out of nowhere- I wasn’t expecting it at all. After my initial emotional outburst I actually felt OK, kind of in a close-a-door-open-a-window kind of way, as in I’m looking forward to what could happen next. I may have the opportunity to go back to work at the same place if my employment paperwork works out, but I would actually...
